Words from metaljudgment.com's ABYSS:
Welcome friends and neighbors, to the second annual New England Metal &
Hardcore Festival. Or, as I like to call it, Let's
Get a Beer While This Hardcore Band is On. The first metalfest of the season touched down in Worcester, MA on February
11th and 12th, giving me my first metal hangover of the new millenium. Any
time I can get out of the New York area in order to buy cheaper beer, I get
a smile on my face... oh, and there was metal there too. What a bonus.
With
acts such as Six Feet Under, Cannibal Corpse (wouldn't I love to make a soap
opera outta that one!), God Dethroned, Dying Fetus, Shadows Fall and more,
this show proved to be a good appetizer before the March Metal Meltdown.
Attendance seemed to be up this year, and a good time was had by all, even
those arrested during a melee that broke out during Hatebreed's performance
on the upstairs stage. I tried to get into some of the hardcore acts, but
that was ruined when I saw the singer from Skarhead using a 40oz on stage as
a prop rather than refreshment. Although I'm not a big fan of malt liquor,
it is made to be drunk, and is not here just for our amusement. But aside
from minor pet peeves, anytime you can spend a weekend listening to
aggressive music while drinking equally aggressively, a festival it will be.
Enjoy the images...
